Dear Friend:

The summer of 2021 will be here before you know it! Are you wondering what will your children do this summer? Vacation Bible School would be a great addition to summer fun. Let your children make new friends, create new memories, and learn more about God.

BMA Tenpoint teams up with 10 churches to host Vacation Bible School for the youth and families of our community. Last year, with nine congregations in Greater Boston, we served 436 children and youth! We had 185 volunteers and 17 paid staff that lead our VBS programs. VBS is part of a larger initiative that together with churches and community agencies provide 8 weeks of safe, healthy summer programming as an alternative to the often dangerous streets. This programming includes Vacation Bible School, Fit Church/Fit Community Health Fairs, Victory Generation Summer Kids Camps, and Teen Café Youth Violence Prevention activities.

Out of all of our summer programming, VBS is the only one funded through private, unrestricted individual donations because we are reaching children, youth, and their parents with the message of Jesus’ Love, teaching them to be disciples.
VBS provides a fun, engaging venue for learning Bible stories while building friendships with others. Children also participate in arts and crafts, games and sports, and some churches offer a meal or a healthy snack. We have many stories to share. One church reported, “Some children told our staff that this was the only place where they heard stories from the Bible and told in a way that they could understand. Many shared that they didn’t receive this kind of instruction at home. When 9-year-old Jordan was asked what was his favorite part of VBS, he answered without pause; “The Bible and Bible Time! Learning about God and the staff are fun. Don’t get me started about that bunny song.” Children’s lives are being transformed and we have many stories like this one where children and youth are being changed. We ask you to join us in changing children’s lives this summer!
Because we will never use government or foundation dollars to proselytize, BMA Tenpoint relies upon folks like you to support this faith-filled initiative. With a gift of just $40 you will help us reach hundreds of children and youth with Biblical instruction and fun and creative activities in a safe environment. A $40 donation is the equivalent of only $5 per week for 8 weeks of VBS!  However, a gift of any size is welcomed and all donations are fully tax-deductible.
Enclosed is a response card that explains how your donation can make a difference. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for Vacation Bible School and we are asking you to give a minimum of a $40 donation to make an impact throughout those 8 weeks.

If you have any questions about our VBS campaign, please contact David Wright at 617-445-2737 ext.111 or dwright@bmaboston.org.
