About our program.

The Community Wellness Initiative, formerly Fit Church/Fit Community (“FC/FC”) is an initiative of BMA Tenpoint to partner with local congregations, based in specific low-income, minority neighborhoods, to improve health outcomes for residents of their immediate neighborhood.  Our objective is to reduce health disparities in the Black community, particularly in the urban congregations of Boston and the local communities they serve.

BMA Tenpoint partners with congregations to help them achieve their health and wellness goals and to impact their surrounding community. We work with great organizations and churches to engage neighborhoods by hosting health fairs  and programming. Programming and health fairs range from mental health awareness, nutrition classes, walking clubs, bootcamps and more!

National Wellness Week

Every third week of August, we encourage our communities to improve their current wellness and fitness goals. Head out for a walk, join a fitness class, get a health check-up, de-clutter your home, play some sports, or dance in the living room like nobody is watching. Whatever you do...take action!
